Try Mozy!
This is the online back-up system I use. I was hesitant to use one. First, because I have a server at my work that I can back all my files up to. But do you know how long that takes? Forever. And I have to remember to back it up. So I normally back-up once a week if I’m lucky. Second, I didn’t want to pay money to back up my files. Why should I? But $50 for unlimited storage seemed like a great deal. Third, it backs up my files daily, and even more often if I want it to. The initial back-up can take awhile, but once everything is backed-up, Mozy simply backs up the files each day that have changed. So backs-up go rather quickly and do not affect computer performance.
Previously, when I backed up weekly it was possible that if my computer crashed the day before I backed up, I would lose six days of data. Using Mozy the most I would ever lose is a day’s worth of work. As many files as I change and alter, six days of work is a lot to lose.
So after doing the research, I felt confident in Mozy. Their encryption is the highest available publicly–448 bit blowfish encryption. So my files are safe in their servers.
I recently had to reformat my computer. It was easy to restore everything from Mozy’s server where I had stored all my files that I wanted backed-up.
I currently have 34GB backed up on their servers. All for $50/year. I feel it’s a bargain and I never have to worry about remembering to back up my data.
Check them out! $50/year for UNLIMITED storage.
